Brief History

CHILL (Counseling Humans In Life Lessons) was started by Dr. Gary Talib Wright, director of the Morehouse Counseling Resource Center and notable alumnus of the college, in the fall of 2010. Dr. Wright, class of 1991, realized that there was a need for students on campus to assist professional Counselors in the Counseling Resource Center as well as serve as an emotional support to other students on campus.

CHILL started its journey as a registered student organization (RSO) at Morehouse College in 2013 and is considered to be one of the most efficient and organized mental health based programs amongst Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the country. CHILL has been recognized for its work in mental health by organizations such as the HBCU Center for Excellence (HBCU-CFE), Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

CHILL prides itself on being an organization that is driven constantly by the idea of creating and discovering new and innovative ways to make mental health more appealing to human beings.
